Upcoming Ampere NXG Electric Scooter Sets Two New Records On Its Journey From Kashmir To Kanyakumari

The upcoming electric scooter from Ampere, likely to be called the NXG, has set two records on its journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. These include “making the biggest electric scooter brand logo drawn on the white sands” and “the first electric scooter to tow a pickup truck.” They also gained recognition from the India Book of Records.

The Biggest Electric Scooter Brand Logo Drawn on the White Sands

Ampere has created its brand logo on the white sands, using its soon-to-be-launched electric scooter, making the record for “the biggest electric scooter brand logo drawn on the white sands”. The rider skillfully traced the Ampere brand logo, on the white sands of Dholavira, located in the Great Rann of Kutch. The logo was 17,100 square feet overall, measuring 179.8 feet by 95.2 feet, with its perimeter being 394 feet long. This record was officially confirmed on February 2, 2024, by the India Book of Records.

The First Electric Scooter to Tow a Pickup Truck

Ampere established another record on the NXG electric scooter by successfully towing a pickup truck weighing 1860kg, along with an additional 140kg (equivalent to two passengers in the truck). The electric scooter towed the pickup truck for 2km in 15 minutes. This record was also achieved at the Rann of Kutch on the Road to Heaven, and was officially confirmed on February 3, 2024.

Earlier showcased as a concept at the Auto Expo, the Ampere NXG is all set to be launched in a production version, which might be called the ‘Ampere Nexus’ as Ampere filed a trademark with the same name back in April 2023. The status of the trademark is “Accepted and Advertised” which means the trademark authority has accepted the name and it has been listed in the trademark journal.

The Ampere NXG is expected to be launched by mid-2024 and is likely to be priced between Rs 1.35 lakh and 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom). Pre-bookings for the e-scooter are now open and you can book the limited K2K edition for Rs 499, directly from Ampere’s website.
