TVS Raider 125 sales cross 50,000 mark in April 2024

TVS opened FY2025 on a strong note, registering a 29 percent year-on-year increase in domestic two-wheeler sales to 3,01,449 units in April. This comprised 1,32,339 scooters (up 38 percent), 1,27,186 motorcycles (up 24 percent) and 41,924 mopeds (a 20 percent increase). While the Jupiter and the NTorq still dominate TVS’ scooter sales, the two-wheeler that continues to make news and sell in big numbers is its TVS Raider 125 motorcycle.

The Raider, TVS’ first 125cc motorcycle, was its best-selling bike in FY2024; with volumes of 4,78,443 units (up 100 percent on-year), it overtook the popular TVS Apache series, which clocked 3,78,072 units. It was also the brand’s third-best-selling product after the flagship Jupiter scooter and the XL moped (4,81,803 units), missing the second spot by just 3,360 units. At FY2024-end, the Raider 125 had cumulative wholesales of 7,94,573 units in India.

And the Raider 125 has built on its sales momentum, with volumes of 51,098 units in April, a 62 percent jump over the previous year, according to data from the industry body SIAM. Once again, it is ahead of the Apache brand, which has clocked sales of 45,520 units, up 19 percent. The Raider 125 accounted for 40 percent of TVS’ motorcycle sales and 17 percent of total two-wheeler sales.

TVS Raider 125: 8 lakh sales in 31 months

 

It took just 31 months for the Raider 125 to cross the sales milestone of 8,00,000 units. It efficiently captured the demand in the rapidly growing and highly competitive 125cc commuter motorcycle market and became a key contributor to TVS’ overall growth in two-wheelers.

The TVS Raider 125 competes with well-established products like the Bajaj Pulsar, Honda Shine, and Hero MotoCorp’s Glamour, Super Splendor and Xtreme 125R.

TVS Raider 125: Sporty styling draws Gen Z biking aficionados

Among the new products catering to the surging demand for sporty 125cc motorcycles, the tech-laden Raider is drawing more and more Gen Z buyers. The bike is available in four variants; its ex-showroom, Delhi pricing starts at Rs 95,219 for the single-seat one and goes up to Rs 1.04 lakh for the range-topping Raider SX.

The TVS Raider 125’s standout design elements include a muscular tank, a snazzy headlight, a minimalistic tail-lamp and a split seat. The sporty styling, as compared to the staid designs of most rivals, seems to have paid dividends. The TFT dash on the top-spec trim is also unique at this price point.
