Bike, scooter sales February 2024: Hero, Honda sell over 4 lakh units

Sales figures for the six heavyweights in the Indian two-wheeler market for February 2024 have been released and here’s how each manufacturer fared:

Hero MotoCorp: 4,45,257 units

Market leader Hero MotoCorp continues to defend its top spot and reported a 5.8 percent increase compared to its January sales figure of 4,20,934 units. Even when compared to its sales figure for February 2023 (3,82,317 units), it reported a 16.46 percent increase. We’ve ridden Hero’s flagship Mavrick 440 and you can read our review here.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI): 4,13,967 units

Retaining its second spot in the Indian two-wheeler market, HMSI reported an increase of 8.2 percent compared to its January 2024 numbers (3,82,512 units). In a similar vein, Honda India also bettered its admittedly low February 2023 numbers (2,27,064 units) by a whopping 82.31 percent. TVS Motor Company: 2,67,502 units

While TVS retained its third place spot in the market, it reported a minute 0.3 percent decrease compared to its January 2024 numbers, which stood at 2,68,233 units. However, the Hosur-based company bettered its February 2023 tally of 2,21,402 units by 20.82 percent this year. It bears mentioning that this number doesn’t include sales of TVS’ electric two-wheelers – the iQube e-scooter range, and the rather pricey and niche X.

Bajaj Auto: 1,70,527 units

Bajaj reported a decline of 11.80 percent compared to its January 2024 numbers (1,93,350 units), but compared to its February 2023 numbers (1,20,335 units), the Chakan-based marque reported a 38.51 percent increase. It bears mentioning that Bajaj’s numbers include the sales of its Chetak e-scooter. Bajaj recently refreshed its popular Pulsar NS range, which you can read about here.

Suzuki: 83,304 units

Just like it did in January 2024 (80,511 units), Suzuki sold over 80,000 units in February as well, reporting a 3.47 percent increase. Compared to its February 2023 sales figure of 52,451 units, Suzuki reported a substantial 58.82 percent increase. Royal Enfield: 67,922 units

Compared to the 70,556 units it sold in January 2024, Royal Enfield reported a 3.73 percent decline last month. Despite that, it bettered its February 2023 sales figure, which stood at 64,436 units, by 5.41 percent.
