Ather 450 Apex Deliveries Commerce; Ather Rizta Family Scooter New Accessory And Other Details Revealed

Ather Energy has started deliveries of the Ather 450 Apex in 3 cities: Goa, Pune and Bengaluru, with other cities to follow soon. The brand has teased a new ‘smart’ accessory to the Ather Rizta, and the CEO of Ather, Tarun Mehta has also revealed a few details about the upcoming family scooter.

The limited edition Ather 450 Apex, is the most powerful Ather scooter. It started rolling off the production floor recently, and now deliveries have begun.

The Apex is based on the 450 platform and comes with a similar design as the 450X but with a few differences, such as the Indium Blue colour scheme and transparent side panels. It is powered by a more powerful motor which generates a peak power output of 7kW power and 26Nm, it also gets a Warp+ mode which allows the riders to access the scooter’s real power and potential. The scooter comes at a price of Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom, excluding FAME 2).

As for the two teasers from Ather, the first one featured CEO Tarun Mehta. He revealed a bit more information about the upcoming Ather Rizta family scooter and the backstory behind the decision to make it.

One of the interesting things that stands out is that the Rizta will come with a differently tuned throttle, more suited to its role as a family-oriented scooter. This means the motor will react to throttle input in a gentler manner compared to the fast and sporty throttle on the  Ather 450S and Ather 450X.

Lastly, we also got to see a teaser of the secret smart accessory that Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain talked about in one of their recent social media posts. In the post they only mentioned that it will be a secret smart accessory and co-founder Swapnil Jain mentioned that “You may stand a chance to win it for yourself.”

Judging by the teaser, we believe the secret smart accessory, dubbed Halo, will be a ‘smart helmet’ likely with Bluetooth connectivity, speakers, and a mic. It makes sense that the accessory is a helmet, as the name Halo itself gives it away.

The Ather Rizta, along with the smart accessory will be unveiled at Ather community day on April 6, 2024. It is expected to come at a price of Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom including FAME 2 subsidy). It will rival the TVS iQubeHero Vida V1 Pro and Bajaj Chetak.
