Ampere has trademarked two new names, ‘Nexus’ and ‘Aspirus’. The status of both has been listed as ‘Accepted and Advertised’, meaning it has been accepted by the trademark authority and is now listed on the trademark journal.
This indicates that the brand will be using both names for their upcoming scooters, we believe ‘Nexus’ will be the final name for the upcoming Ampere NXG, the same scooter which just set two records in the India Book of Records.
‘Aspirus’ on the other hand is likely to be an upcoming electric scooter that will feature a maxi-style design but share the same powertrain and underpinnings as the NXG.
The NXG has been spied testing in the past and the spy shots have given us a good idea as to what we can expect from the scooter. It will come with a boxy design, apron mounted LED headlight and turn indicators. It will also feature a spacious floodboard, long and wide seat complemented by a large single-piece pillion grabrail. The instrument console is a large digital display, which could be an LCD or a TFT unit.
The scooter is expected to come with a price tag of around Rs 1.35 lakh or Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom), with the launch expected to take place by mid-2024.
