Ather Rizta: More Details Of Upcoming Ather Family Electric Scooter Revealed By CEO And Co-founder

Ather Energy’s CEO Tarun Mehta has shared the details of the upcoming Ather Rizta family scooter on social media, ahead of the Ather Community Day 2024, scheduled to take place on April 6.

Along with the unveiling of the upcoming electric scooter on that day, Tarun also mentioned that other than the massive seat, it will also come with big storage space (could certainly be bigger than the Ather 450X’ 22 litre underseat storage); and also a USB charging port. Ather is also planning on launching a smart accessory, which will be first for the brand. While we aren’t sure as to what exactly it is, co-founder Swapnil Jain mentioned, “You may stand a chance to win it for yourself”. A smart connected helmet (perhaps with bluetooth and speakers) would make a lot of sense in enhancing the practicality, but we’ll just have to wait and see what it is.

Along with this, Ather will also be releasing an OTA update dubbed ‘Ather Stack 6’. The update will be bringing new functionalities to the scooters such as messaging on the dashboard, among others. A new Ather mobile app is also going to be launched.

Ather also dropped a teaser ad featuring former WWE heavyweight champion and hall of famer, The Great Khali. In the teaser we can see the Great Khali doing … well Khali stuff, the main focus of the teaser was of course the Rizta’s large seat. The same had been teased earlier in a rather unconventional way by the manufacturer via massive billboards in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The photos of both were featured in the teaser too.

The manufacturer is also planning on showcasing the limited edition Ather 450 Apex, which is their most powerful e-scooter. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the e-scooter and also a chance to win one as well.

The Ather Rizta is likely to be launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom including FAME 2 subsidy). It will rival other electric scooters currently in the market such as the TVS iQube, Hero Vida V1 Pro and Bajaj Chetak.
